The site is in New Jersey. They say the cat, who weighs 15 pounds and is declawed, really did chase the bear up the tree. Not only that, but when the bear tried to escape after 15 minutes or so, the cat chased it up another tree.

Obviously, it's all a matter of attitude. No firearms required.

Yeah, we have one too. They're always yellow tomcats I think.

Ours eats little dogs raw for breakfast and roasts the big ones for supper. They run away yelping if he so much as looks at them. I don't doubt he might chase a bear if we had any around here.

*grins evilly* I've also seen a video with the same thing. And it was a ginger cat too, basically a black bear was sniffing around a bush when a ginger cat comes out of it scaring the bear off and the cat chases after it. :)

You guys don't have anything quite like bears down there, do you? It's a really impressive feat for a little 15 pound cat to chase one. In my experience, bears mostly don't care who or what you are. If you get in their way, they deal with you one way or another and keep going as if nothing happened.
