(It was a beautiful day though. Spring is finally here. Tess behaved nicely going and coming, and she's up to 60 minutes a day on the grass now, which I'm sure pleased her.)

Umm, if you say so. I actually looked at that, though I don't usually bother with youtube stuff because it takes much too long. I found it quite incomprehensible.

Nothing better for a horse than to be out a-chomping on spring grass

Well, actually, spring grass can be quite bad for horses, depending on what they are used to. But certainly most horses will agree with you that they like nothing better. In fact, it may be better even than sex.

The trouble is, new spring grass is often loaded with sugars that play havoc with a horse's digestive system and can lead to serious problems like founder or colic. We're creatures of the wastelands and semi-arid areas, not made for rich food.

Thats a good point, hmm well there's not much around here, I don't think there are any sugars left in it at all.
