altivo: (rocking horse)

One more day of work, then nine days off. Well "off" is probably a loose term unless you think of it as "off my rockers." There's far too much to squeeze into those nine days. I have several fiber projects to complete, some small, some larger. All are at least started, thank goodness. Should get my eyes checked and order new glasses. Because the weather was so uncooperative this year, the garden is mostly a loss, but there are still things that should be done there. The Prairie Days parade in Clinton, WI is Sunday, and my brother will be in town for dinner that day too. Next weekend is the Northern Illinois Horsefest, but we might skip it. It keeps shrinking every year which gets pretty depressing. Hard to justify the admission for what's left of it. I'll probably sit in on Gary's rehearsals, which takes up two afternoons. Somewhere in there I should catch up on the sleep of which I've been depriving myself, but probably that won't happen. There are any number of "paint up and fix up" projects that could be done around the farm, enough of them that I get tired just thinking of it. We still need a whole lot of hay, too, and will likely try to get some to arrive next week.

Just thinking about it all makes me feel like I need a nap, but maybe that's partly because I just finished most of my chores for the day. Time to make supper for the dogs now.

Oh yeah, I promised more photos of the steam threshing show last Sunday. Here they are. Gary got them posted before his machine crashed.

Thanks for the photos! I wish I could have been there, Looked like fun!

I've got a "paint up and fix up" list that I started writing down one day so I could keep track of everything. It's depressingly long. At 30+ projects, Michael and I have our work cut out for us.

We're good at procrastinating here. Some of these things have been "on the list" for years. Do I paint the duck house or just wait for the three remaining decrepit ducks to pass so we can dismantle it? (Just one example.)
