Well, essentially. Still needs some small hand finishing, like putting a button and button loop on each cuff, and a tailor's tack or two to reinforce strategic spots. Perhaps a cross stitch monogram somewhere. But the shirt is all put together and hemmed, etc. Photos soon.

Remember the library board? They've asked me to come to their next meeting so they can "interview" me.

And so to bed.

The interview's a month away, fortunately, so I don't have to worry about it right now. ;p Since (as far as I know) it's a non-paying position just like being on the school board, there's no stress involved. Either I do it or I don't.

In a day or two. It still needs buttons on the cuffs and loops crocheted for the buttons because I don't want to use button holes. Then I'll have to wash it again and iron it, because there are still tailor's chalk marks in a couple of spots. Finally, it needs to be gone over for loose thread ends to be snipped or tucked, and I plan to do a counted cross-stitch monogram on the sleeve. (Apparently that was common, though the typical location was in the middle of the chest. I suppose it served as a laundry mark for single workmen who hired out their laundry to someone, and might have also been a form of identification in case you were drowned or otherwise killed.)

Is this the board from the BFUC or the break-out group? If the former, remember to run away if they start taking measurements for concrete shoes. ;-)

Neither. It's the library board for the district I live in, which is not involved in either group. Completely unrelated to work, this is local political/civic stuff.

Dear Rider.

What you need are antique era buttons. Of course if I was taking another ceramics class I could kiln some up for ya but I bet many were made of wood, bone, stone and other such materials, probably brass and tin, etc., too.

I would so love a shirt like that. *major hint but nah, too much work for you*

Impers who would look goofy in a shirt anyway.

Actually I'm looking for wood buttons. That's one reason I still haven't put buttons on.

Now if you'd settle for commercial fabric that looks handwoven, I could probably make you one. Handweaving is a commitment of several months.

Horses wear shirts? An interesting mental image to'besure :)

The Library board? Isn't that the plank that always squeaks in wet weather?
