Hot, humid again, no cicadas. It's a hoax I tell you.

Going to bed now.

Hot and humid enough for steamed cicadas? =)

Probably not, but it makes wilted ponies just fine. ;p

Thanks, I shall, but it looks like most of it will be indoors. Rain, rain, rain is the forecast, and we do need some but why doesn't it fall during the work week instead of on weekends?

Our backyard at night is interesting. The frogs after a shower make an immense amount of noise. And there is this creature (we don't know what it is and it only started two days ago) that makes some sound (only at night)that sounds like someone torturing a lamb while turning one of those cow-sound toys over and over again. And its loud and goes off every 10 seconds or so. I might lose my general non-violent nature if it doesn't stop! My partner thought it might be a cicada but it would have to be a cicada the size of my car.

If it repeats itself again and again for hours and only at night, I'll vote for some kind of amphibian, most likely toad or frog but possibly a salamander of some sort. Is there fresh water near? Even puddles would be enough.

On the other hand, perhaps it's the fabled chupacabra just waiting to get a taste of wolf?

Lots of puddles and a neighbor has a pond which is a breeding ground for frogs. We are having an early rainy season. Fortunately our local Chupacabra has been quiet tonight. Weirdest thing, this is the first I've heard of a Chupacabra and I watched a cartoon today where the theme was an alien had landed and the locals thought it was a chupacabra. How strange!

Actually due to the dust cycle during the week, Saturday is the day most likely for rain :)

And we need some rain here to keep the pollen count down, but not enough to breed more mosquitoes.
