Railroaded!

We joined quickcasey and rrwolf at the Illinois Railway Museum this afternoon where we walked our feet off visiting every car barn before actually getting on a train. It was fascinating fun, though, and when we did finally make it onto the trains, Blue_Heeler was the conductor on the Diesel passenger train. After the last run he gave us a tour of the control tower and we all adjourned to Marengo for dinner. It was a busy day but quite nice, and the weather cooperated as well. Partly cloudy, but no real rain and not too hot.

A long day, too, however, and I'm about done in. I'll see how far I get reading before I fall asleep.

I saw Casey talking about the IRM trip. Unfortunately, I knew I had to help with an air conditioning install yesterday, so I couldn't make it.

Sorry you couldn't make it. Yep, it was fun. There are some locomotive pictures in rrwolf's journal now, and a lot more were taken of various things, including us at the end. I imagine more will show up.

I think it would be really fun to do a fursuit photoshoot or video on site there sometime. Furry conductor, passengers, engineer, and all would look really great. Whether approval for that could ever be obtained, though, I have no idea.

Yeah, it was fun. I'd have asked you but I figured it really wasn't worth a four hour drive each way, plus gas. When you're in Illinois again and have time, though, we definitely should go there.
