There's another line of heavy thunderstorms headed this way.

The latest figures from the airport in Rockford show 11.40 inches of rainfall so far this month. The record for August, and in fact for any single month since they began keeping track in 1906 is 13.55, so just another 2.5 inches will set an all time record for a single month. With nine days left to go, and heavy rain predicted every day and night from now until Saturday, I think the odds favor a new record.

Now how do you convert cubits to centimeters again?

Okay.....build ark. Got it. Should I move it ahead of Paint Jeep, restore VW?
It would seem so.
Do they use Rubik's cubits now? More colorful.

I'm worried about where I get two giraffes, two ostriches, two kangaroos and all that stuff. Not to mention getting the whales on board...

We'll substitute fursuiters when necessary.

Be sure to make room for books of course :)

I saw a book in one of the school libraries today titled Altivo's Adventure, so I thought of you. The cover might make a good eljay user icon!

Even we're having a rather unusually wet August. Yeah, I know Seattle is supposedly notorious for rain, but ... its kind of unusual for August.

Rumor has it that's what happened to the unicorns. Noah took two along, but they were both male. I think the same would happen with a lot of fursuiters. ;p

Oh I can just take along the electronic book reader. We got a hand crank emergency light over the weekend that also charges cell phones and other similar devices. I'll bet it would recharge the reader if you cranked enough...

Probably it's your rain coming all the way here...

No, I'm sure this is something else. There's desert between us and it would surely be on the news if that was flooded.

True. It isn't easy being a Neo-Noah.

To my knowledge, the only desert between you and I is the "Channeled Scablands" desert which a lot of websites dedicated to North American deserts don't recognize as desert, even though (to my knowledge) a desert is a region receiving less than 10 inches of rain per year and there's a good chunk of land in Eastern Washington that fits that bill.

Believe me, if I knew a way to redirect some of this, I certainly would. For one thing it's starting to endanger any chance of getting reasonably priced hay for the winter.

Heh. I don't need a web site to convert me. A cute husky like you can turn me into just about anything. ;p

Hmm. If cubits are that large, then I'm gonna need a lot of lumber.

Indeed, though I'm starting to imagine a furry stage play of Benjamin Britten's piece, "Noe's Fludde" (I think that's how he spelled it.) Fursuiters singing many of the parts...

2.68 times, share a birthday with my sister, are going to MFF, and obviously don't realize I both like older men and think age is just a silly number anyway.

You're as sweet as you are cute. However, I'm much too inhibited and intimidated for that to make any difference. Now I'll probably dream about you, though.

May be just me, but if the world is flooding, I'd say there's no need to worry about getting aquatic or amphibious animals on the ark.

I could've sworn I posted this earlier today, but ... Anyway. America isn't the only place with wetter-than-wet weather. Here in Denmark we had a road collapse from the water eroding the ground under it; AFAIK, that has -never- happened before. Also, we have a stretch of railway tracks suspended in mid-air since the ground under those got washed away, too - while a train was passing over. Amazingly no one hurt.

All in all the weather has been weird for the past year. No real winter here, and now this wet summer. August is traditionally near-drought, and instead we're drowning. One place got 1/4th of all the rain they expect in a year ... in one hour. Yes, one hour. Insanity.

Yes, I've noticed remarks about excess rain from the UK, Sweden, and Finland, too. Meanwhile the drought in Australia and Africa continues.
