Anyone know how to build an ark?
Aug. 22nd, 2007 05:25 pmThere's another line of heavy thunderstorms headed this way.
The latest figures from the airport in Rockford show 11.40 inches of rainfall so far this month. The record for August, and in fact for any single month since they began keeping track in 1906 is 13.55, so just another 2.5 inches will set an all time record for a single month. With nine days left to go, and heavy rain predicted every day and night from now until Saturday, I think the odds favor a new record.
Now how do you convert cubits to centimeters again?

Date: 2007-08-23 10:51 am (UTC)All in all the weather has been weird for the past year. No real winter here, and now this wet summer. August is traditionally near-drought, and instead we're drowning. One place got 1/4th of all the rain they expect in a year ... in one hour. Yes, one hour. Insanity.
