...and I'm off work for nine days. Not that it's going to be all fun stuff, because I have projects that must get done in that time. All of them are "in progress" already, but have deadlines ranging from September 8 to September 24 and just aren't going to be finished unless I move them first in the queue. None of it is work-related, thank goodness.

Gary's away in Chicago this evening, so I'm on my own. Chores are all done, only the dogs and myself yet to feed. Things are finally starting to dry out. Tess was able to go out to the pasture briefly yesterday, and for a couple of hours today. I'll be holding her to two hours max for several more days. No rain on the forecasts, so the grass out there should start to dry out and be less lush pretty quickly. Right now we have plague hordes of mosquitos, but if the rain holds off they'll start disappearing in a week. Of course we'll need a good frost to really get rid of them.

Projects that need to be completed now:
  • Finish polishing book manuscript of Taking Flight
  • Finishing touches on woven pieces for gallery show
  • Finish one knitted piece and dye it for gallery show
  • Guild newsletter to get out this weekend, hopefully
  • Finish spinning samples of linen and cottons in time for gallery show (optional)

At least your list is smaller than mine. I've got enough projects to last me for the rest of my life (and that doesn't include the "I'd like to do this someday" list) >.

This is just the list of things that must be done in the next week because they should have been finished last week. If I included all the non-urgent projects then I'll bet our lists would be much closer in size. ;p

This is true :P To think there was actually a time in my life where I genuinely didn't have anything to do. I can't even relate to that any more.

Really didn't have anything to do, or just thought you didn't have anything to do?

As far back as I can remember, I've always had the "so many books, so little time" problem.

Dear Rider.

I have a similar list but shorter.

Finish the cover art for "Taking Flight" this weekend.

Finish the lioness and tiger artwork for the inflatables this weekend.

Finish my Steedsuit but have two months so need to do the first two asap.

Need to get into the creative mode for certain.

You and me both. I allowed myself to get distracted last night by designing a new QSL card. Bad 'Tivo.

*hustles over to your place with a car load of Citronella candles, places them outside around your house and lights them*

Lots of thread based tasks you have there O.O
I've been running around the house all day cleaning up etc.

I don't think citronella will be enough. Yesterday I took Tess out to the pasture for a while. She was eager to go, but when I went to bring her back a little over an hour later, she was literally covered with mosquitos. It looked as if she had been sprinkled with pepper or something, they were so thick. If I'd left her for two hours, they'd have sucked her dry. (And she was sprayed with repellent before she went out...)

Yes, lots of thread-based tasks. Fortunately each is nearly done.

I guess a mosquito coil isn't going to cut it?

You kitties who live in dry climate zones just have no idea. ;p

I'm afraid in this case nothing short of a hard freeze is going to get rid of the pests. It's being reported as the worst mosquito outbreak in decades here.
