altivo: 'Tivo as a plush toy (Miktar's plushie)

As you no doubt know, Wednesday is usually my least favorite day of the week. This was shaping up to be a bad one. The vet was due, the well men were coming to finally dig up the barn floors and fix those pipes that froze last winter before it was freezing again out, Gary's group was supposed to rehearse at our house this afternoon amid all that, and of course I had to work late as usual for Wednesday.

After much scrabbling on Gary's part to get things moved in the barns for the well guys, and spending three days to get in touch with the vet and get her rescheduled so she wouldn't arrive when there is a gaping hole in the barn floor, the well men called to cancel because "it looked like rain" and the vet called to cancel because she is sick. So neither thing happened. The rehearsal did take place, but the rain held off until almost 8 pm, coming just in time so I had to drive home through it. Tomorrow's forecast is a 90% chance of heavy thunderstoms.

Work wasn't great either but of course it is Wednesday. A woman stormed out of the library insisting I was rude to her because I asked her not to use her cell phone. (We have signs to that effect, but people just ignore them.) Fortunately the boss and another worker were right there and had heard how she was screeching into her phone so that her conversation carried all the way across the building. The teenagers were being irritating and obnoxious about the computers and internet usage.

Someone who noticed on the web that I have Alpha computers offered me another one for free if I'd pay the shipping. However, it turned out to be just a new CPU chip, apparently unused, but a later one than my machines so it couldn't even be dropped into them and I declined with thanks.

At least supper was good. We had leftover pizza from what I made on Monday, and some spicy gumbo soup. Because of an abundance of treats brought to Gary's rehearsal, I guess we have a choice of desserts in a few minutes here, as well.

Very odd... I've had two posts in the last week that reached the 50+ comment level where LJ collapses the listing into threads. The last one, about "books by the yard" is almost up to 90. I wonder what happens if it goes over a hundred? Probably I win a booby prize. LJ has just noticed that I'm not renewing my paid account and has started sending me invitations to do so. However, it ain't happening, SixApart. You obviously thought you wouldn't miss me, so, you can do without my money at least.
