Oh, the costume thing at the library was well-received. We did take photos, I may have something to post in a day or two.

Of course, the result text is pretty generic - there's hardly any statement in there that most people wouldn't agree with, so it's not really very enlightening.

Looking forward to the pictures, too. ^^

Here's a quick butterfly to make up for the lack of one in the test:

Very clever, but doesn't excuse the quiz author's laziness. ;p

That certainly. Mmm, there's probably other "what animal am I" quizzes on OKCupid that feature pictures - I'll see if I have any saved in my profile. ^^

Oh, yes, there's this one, for example:

The Deer
Here's your results! Your spirit animal has a Nobility ranking of 10 out of 18.
Your spirit animal is the deer. They are a respectable and beautiful animal. They are fearful and timid at times and are considered as having only slightly above average nobility and wisdom. The deer is a fairly common guardian, and you can feel proud knowing it will serve you well.

***Wondering how this animal was chosen for you? These questions were carefully thought out to see how important you hold certain virtues such as: humanism, self-knowledge, rationalism, the love of freedom and other somewhat Hellenic ideals. Some of the questions were very subtle. Your score was then matched with an animal of corresponding nobility. However, you shouldn't think this was a right/wrong sort of test, but more of an idealistic values test. It's ok to not hold these values, you'll just get an animal spirit of lower stature if you do!***

This test tracked 1 variable. How the score compared to the other people's:
Higher than 99% on Nobility

It's been a while since I took the actual test, though, so I can't vouch for its quality.

I remember that one. We had a long debate about the quiz author's notion of "nobility" and the animals that were selected. In fact, [livejournal.com profile] marzolan worked it all out.

See the entire discussion here if you wish. I was a cougar. There were no equines among the possible results. Hooved animals were deer, elk, and buffalo.

Oh, yes, right - that was THAT test. Sorry, I should probably take an actual look next time before I post about one. :P Still, I can at least use the excuse that it was pretty late last night when I made that comment - I was pretty tired already.

Interesting discussion, though, although I find the complaints about a lack of horses a bit silly at times - there's just 18 possible outcomes, so obviously, the author had to make a choice. Not that that makes his list any more subjective (and, to quite an extent, random), but [livejournal.com profile] heavens_steed's last comment in particular is a bit weird - once you realise that the list of animals is subjective, random and without any real meaning, it simply doesn't make sense anymore to want to substitute a different one that's just as subjective, random and without any real meaning.

Ah well.

No domestic animals at all. The quiz author's definition of "nobility" seemed a bit, well, conventional.
