Made it to 42,000 words last night, still on schedule more or less. I think the story won't be fully done until well after I hit 50,000 though. While at MFF last weekend, I decided to do a new fursuit for next year. It will be Argos, especially good since he's an arctic wolf and next year's theme is "North to Alaska". I started looking for an affordable bracelet to match the description in the book, and expected it to take a while. However, I just won an EBay auction for one that will fit the bill almost perfectly if it just fits me. Supposedly a man's size and adjustable, and the price was a steal.

Argos' bracelet Argos' bracelet
To go with next year's fursuit, the bracelet as described in this year's NaNoWriMo novel. A lucky (and cheap) find on EBay. The design is Tibetan, the seller in Hong Kong. Man's size, adjustable, hope it will fit over furry wrist.

North to Alaska? Good gravy, do they realize how many huskies there are going to be?! I guess we'll all be mushing along.

One can only guess that the large husky faction contributed to this decision. I think it sounds like a lot more fun than pirates, anyway. I'm not sure what raccoons do in Alaska besides shiver, though. I'll have to ask my ex-Alaskan friends about that.

I didn't see you enough times at MFF and ended up hug-deprived. Well, not really, but I would have welcomed more. XD

I should make up some cards that explain the Huskies are from Siberia, not Alaska... but no one respects the hardy Inuit Dog.

And for real mushing, I think malamutes are probably superior, but harder to manage.

Turquoise. My birthstone as it happens.

I was thinking of Navajo jewelry when I wrote the original description, but this is better than any Navajo piece I was able to find, at least, for a price I could afford.

You'd say that to a herd nerd? I'm not worried. Argos is a very independent sort of personality, really. ;D

Dear Rider.

That looks like the perfect bracelet for Argos.

Be happy to help with your fursuit Argos head by the way. I have learned TONS making mine.

So... with all those huskys and mals at MFF next year, perhaps a horsey dogsled driver with sled prop? I know where to buy a kit or a full sled of course, having lived in Alaska with many contacts over the years. Betcha a few furs would enjoy their pic taken in front of a real dogsled.

The racing ones are small enough to carry in, btw. Just a thought.

Looking forward to you as Argos.

That would be quite an investment in a prop, wouldn't it? I think you're right, though, that many would enjoy being photographed with it. Did you notice how many of the huskies actually wear a racing harness with their fursuit?

I've wanted to ask you if there are raccoons in Alaska. I've been too busy to go look that up yet. ;p

I was sorta thinking gold rush, myself. We'll probably see a lot of costumes with prospector props and more than a few females dressed as dance hall femmes, no?

Dance hall... Jeez, maybe you really should do Goldy. :D

About the head, I may indeed ask you for help at some point. I want to take this one more seriously, so it will probably involve fiberglass or wire. And I need to make some character models first... Argos needs to look kind, friendly, and wise, but he's the innocent in this whole mess too, having never really looked at the world beyond his own studio and the woods just outside the village. He's an artist with his head in the clouds, so to speak.
