Quiet time
Dec. 25th, 2007 10:00 pmOther than a few minor chores, like feeding horses and sheep, I did little today. Just reading and writing. I even got in a 30 minute nap. I could use a few more days just like this, but... Back to work tomorrow.
News came that an issue that was going to have one of my stories has been cancelled. They changed the theme of the issue entirely and are starting over. That leaves me with an orphaned story, one that no one has seen other than a couple of editors. My first temptation was to just post it and forget it. But I really like this one, so I'm going to submit it somewhere else first. If it gets rejected there too, then I'll just publish it on the web.
We watched my favorite version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol tonight, the 1970 musical version, Scrooge! with Albert Finney as Ebenezer. The other one we really like is the 1993 Muppet version with Michael Caine as Scrooge. Two very different depictions of the famous skinflint, both of them work well, though.
Actually overslept this morning, to almost 7 am. Very unusual. Can't do that again tomorrow though, so off to bed now.

Date: 2007-12-27 04:13 pm (UTC)I have one other prospect that's just a possibility for this one. However, they don't seem to put out many issues and it could delay appearance of this story for another year or more, which disappoints me even if they accept it.
I love that line.

"If they be like to die, then let them do it and decrease the surplus population."
And of course, the famous one: "Bah, Humbug!"
