Snow? I think this is where we came in...
Dec. 27th, 2007 11:12 pmWatched Shrek 2 tonight because we didn't have any energy left to be productive. It's still funny. Except I'm sad for Donkey that he didn't get to stay a Steed... (though he seems to have gotten over it pretty fast) and Antonio Banderas was just perfect as Puss in Boots.
So they predicted up to an inch of snow last night. We got about a half inch.
Nothing today or tonight, but tomorrow we have a "Snow Advisory" starting at the morning rush hour and running just through the evening rush hour. How handy! A 100% probability of snow, and at the moment they're saying 3 to 7 inches accumulation, with extremely heavy snowfall at midday. Actually all day they've been adjusting the accumulations up and down. It started yesterday afternoon at 1 to 3 inches, made it up to 3 to 5 by bedtime, and this morning they were predicting as much as 4 to 8. Now it's backed off again to 3 to 7 or 3 to 6, depending on which bulletin you read. If they got it right, it will be inconvenient. If they got it wrong, either we'll be buried in snow up to our necks, or we won't get any at all. I admit, though, the storm on the radars does look pretty hefty and seems to be headed this way.

Date: 2007-12-28 09:05 am (UTC)As for the snow, as always, feel free to send any of the extra snow that you don't want over here - we still haven't got any, despite my bemoaning the fact. :)

Date: 2007-12-28 12:19 pm (UTC)Outside of that, yeah, I've been considering Canada. It's not like I have any definite plans to move to Iceland for good, anyway; it's an idea I've been toying with, but Canada would also be nice. It'd probably be easy to get a large plot of land somewhere out in the countryside for relatively little money (I suppose - but given that Germany has more than 72 times the population density of Canada, I'd imagine that the prices for land are a tad lower there, at least. And that's not even taking into account the fact that the population density ratio in non-urban areas will likely be even higher).
But yeah, it's something I've been thinking about, since I'd prefer to not be stuck in Germany for my entire life. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to emigrate at all, simply because I may not meet the requirements for immigration - mental stability/health, education, an ability to support myself, and so on. :/ But on the other hand, I don't know, and a lot could happen in a decade or two.
We'll just see. MMmmm, in the meantime, I'd sure enjoy visiting you, and not just because of the snow. ^.^ *gives you a warm snuggle*

Date: 2007-12-28 08:44 pm (UTC)I preferred Shrek 2 to Shrek 1, in fact. It was less of a one-trick pony. When I rewatched the first one recently, it felt shallower. I didn't like the third very much - again, not much going on, and it seemed rushed, as though not every plot thread was picked up again when it should have been.
