The temperature fell through the floor right around sunset. Now approaching 0°F/-18°C here.

It's not supposed to be very warm for a couple of days, either. I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, that's for sure.

Something like that, yes. I've never had to operate a Diesel engine, so I don't have any practical experience.

diesel tends to gel up, most folks have to add additives to the fuel tank to try and avoid it

Absolutely. Over half a century of experience has taught me well how to do that.

You know...its very very cold here too.

But...remember when you where a kid and you'd stay out from morning
till your mom was yelling for you and you couldn't feel your eyeballs
but it was wonderful fun?

*goes @.@ and runs outside*

Umm, no. I was never that tolerant of cold. I'd go out in it for a while if others were going too, for ice skating, or sledding or whatever, but I really enjoyed most the aftermath where you went back indoors and got warm and had cocoa or something.

*tromps in, covered in snow and sweat, his
hair askew and shakes snow all over the carpet
by the door. He gets into his slippers and
fursuit and starts a fire. Unfortunetly, with
a fursuit on, he starts the fire on the living
room rug and runs around screaming, waving his
hands over his head*

I have to admit, the aftermath part is goodly
too. A nice warm mug of hot chocolate on fingers
that move funny and a book and some Hovaness
playing softly is priceless.

*you look outside and see that he's built
an army of snowman ala Calvin and Hobbes and
the last one looks like its gasping as it
is reaching for the door*

I think you'd have trouble building snowmen in this weather. The snow won't stick together. It's too cold. ;p
