Still cold

According to the thermometer, the temperature is relenting and is all the way up to +7F. However, the house is colder than it was yesterday. My theory is that the wind is from a sensitive direction. There's a cold draft, very noticeable, right past the thermostat. That in turn is causing the heat pump to kick the auxiliary heating coils on and off every few minutes, even though the woodstove is going full blast and the temperature farther away from the thermostat is 70F or more. I can't find the source of that draft. Hopefully it will be warmer by morning.

Finished a watch cap I was knitting using one of those round "knitting looms" just to see how it worked. The answer is it does work, but slowly. The directions I had weren't very good, and went through all sorts of unnecessary gyrations in order to produce a knitted structure, but in the end it did work out and even fits me.

Going back under the quilts now, still have half of that Pratchett book to finish.
