Wednesdays, ugh. And this one was too darned cold, I don't think we got out of single digits all day in spite of the sun being out. Now they're cooking up another snowstorm down in Oklahoma and blowing it this way. There's a track of winter storm watches all the way from there to New England, and some models are saying as much as nine inches in Chicago tomorrow night though the consensus seems to favor three to five. We're only supposed to get one to three here, but if the storm track wavers a bit to the north we'll get more.

Cold weather kept people away from the library in droves, so we had a fairly quiet day and a real slow evening. But when the evening shift drags it just makes it seem that much longer. I'm ready for bed now.

We do have some comfortable chairs and a fireplace. But you'd best at least look like you're reading something or someone might come wake you up and tell you if you want to sleep you should get a room at the motel down the road. ;p

"Cooking up another snowstorm"? Is that mixing metaphors, or what?

Actually I wouldn't call it mixed. These violent storms result when warm moist air, usually off the Gulf of Mexico, meets cold air spilling down from Canada and the Arctic. So when things are "cooking" in Texas and on the Gulf, a snow vortex forms over Oklahoma and Kansas and then travels northeast.

"Will you stop hanging up on me?"

Heh. These days we practically need a law degree to deal with the bureaucracy and figure out what we can and can't say without getting slapped with lawsuits.

Now soup, that I can appreciate. Thanks!
