Oh, the weather outside is frightful...
Jan. 31st, 2008 08:37 pmWell, it's snowing. Boy is it snowing. At present it's accumulating about an inch each hour. Seems that a "snow advisory" is actually more powerful than a "winter storm warning" since this time we are getting the snow and with the warning we got almost nothing. Looking at the radar, they must really be getting buried down in Kentucky and Tennessee, unless it's warm enough to be rain there. Of course there would have to be a staff breakfast tomorrow morning at 8, but if I can't get out of my driveway, I can't. ;p
Mostly this morning I just pulled "new" books off the browsing shelves. We put books that we think will be of great interest onto a special set of shelves for the first six months before sending them to the regular stacks. That means once a month I remove the oldest ones, alter their location in the catalog and send them to be reshelved. There are a huge number this month, which seems to suggest that we added an excessive number last July. I don't remember doing that in particular, but the evidence is pretty strong now.
Came home at one and it was already starting to snow. The sheep were out in their yard wearing little snowcaps on their heads and backs, so I let them into the barn. Some of them actually shook like dogs to get the snow off, something I hadn't seen them do before. Gary cut his trip into Chicago short so as not to be stranded there, where they may get ten or twelve inches of snow before it's over (at least if the forecast proves correct) so he is home tonight. He helped me finish up putting everyone to bed for the night and then I made eggplant parmesan for supper.
I'm gonna try to get some writing done before I fall asleep.
