Ugh, Wednesday again

Too cold, too tired, too too...

Drove to Richmond for a fairly intense catalogers' meeting this afternoon, though apparently some library directors are accusing us of "doing nothing important" at these sessions.

Roads are still icy in low places. It has been too cold for any effective ice removal.

Bills have got me down, which is unusual. Just a coincidence. Had to pay the horses' vet bill, which I do a year in advance, and it's a bit ouchy for three of them. (Much more than I spend on myself.) Car insurance also coming due, and I pay a year in advance on that. Credit card bill, which I insist on paying immediately, no minimum payments or letting balances hang over. Now my checking account looks really lean. Need to do taxes, I think I get a refund this year. I'd better.

Feed the woodstove, and to bed.

Isn't it sad the way money woes can get people down? There's probably other underlying issues, but the monetary one is the easiest to spot, so...

I can't complain, really. I just get nervous when the balance in my account swoops down. I have no debts and I have a steady job. The pay isn't great, but it's OK. And fortunately, I have no cravings for fast cars, wide screen televisions, or vacations in Mexico or Europe. In fact, I have a distaste for such things.
