Cold, rainy, gloomy. Time for soup and home made pizza.

I'm cracking the whip over myself to finish one more woven piece for the gallery show. Sunday afternoon is the drop dead line. I already filed intent to submit this one, and fortunately, the warp is already on the loom, so I should succeed. It's vaguely furry, if you consider a reference to the Cat in the Hat to be furry. ;p

My boss remarked this afternoon that she was going to need at least five glasses of wine when she got home. By the time we closed up, she was upping that to six glasses. I guess it's the approaching full moon that's making everyone seem downright looney.

Virginia creeper is turning red, producing some interesting color effects where it has climbed up high into the trees that are still mostly green. If the sun comes out this weekend, I'll try to get some interesting photos of it.

Ok, enough. Back to the loom with me, if I can stay awake.

Why's that? Worried that the were-dingos will get you?

No nothing like that :)
I inherited a trait from my father where my sleep is disturbed when it's a full moon

Even if you can't see the moon? That's interesting.

I'm exactly the same way. I have heavy light-blocking drapes that can keep the bedroom in near-total darkness even during the day and they still don't help. I got maybe two hours of sleep last night.

I understand. New moon is for dreaming, full moon is just toss/turn agitation. I slept terribly last night and have been up since about 3:00 a.m. *having more coffee* Lucky for patrons that this is my Saturday off.

From the USNO-
Phase of the Moon on 3 October: waxing gibbous with 99% of the Moon's visible disk illuminated.

...this too shall pass.

But I like the full moon.

Dark moon is better for stargazing, but full moon is best for walking or playing outdoors at night. Must be the wolf in me.

You know there's an old Japanese fairy tale about Rabbits making omochi on the moon (omochi is this kind of rice starch snack you grill)

Grilled rice starch? I hope it's nicer than it sounds...

It is actually, very simple but nice food, especially with a bit of soy sauce. Good winter food....less than optimum summer food ;)
