Worms escaping...
Jul. 15th, 2008 08:22 pmToday was my day for finding cans of wiggly worms everywhere. You know, like that loose thread on your shirt sleeve and you think it isn't attached so you go to pick it loose only it's attached and pulls out the seam so your cuff falls off? Or something like that?
Mostly work related and hence too uninteresting for me to detail here, but suffice it to say that some of the worms are tied in virtual Gordian knots, and can't be resolved the way Alexander the Great did it. (He cut through the knot with his sword.) They must be untangled.
At least the weather was nice. Better yet, summer reading is almost over. Today's program for the kids was actually educational. Our aquarium specialist gave a talk on fish, right next to the two big aquaria, and explained about the different species and where they come from and how they are cared for. I believe he fed the lungfish for them (always a popular event,) and my boss gave away guppies from the overcrowded tank in her office to half a dozen of the kids. Hardly made a dent in her guppy population, though.
I did hand over a bucket with about 16 platyfish (and one free-loading guppy) to Jeff this morning. He says he will bring me a couple of Corydoras catfish in exchange, which we both consider to be a good deal.
Tomorrow is the W day, but I'm not going to think about it for now.
