altivo: From a con badge (studious)

Last minute job again. 'Nuff said. At least the storms are gone for the moment.

Stray kitten that showed up at work last week has been adopted by the boss who took him (I think a him) home today. Appears to be a purebred lynx point Siamese. Blue eyes, stripey tail and legs, sad blue eyes and a Siamese voice. Very affectionate, wants to be held and played with constantly. Probably someone's lost pet but nothing has been reported in a week, so...

Fixed two broken things tonight. One a VHS player that was refusing to load tapes, now working again. The other one of those silly LED badges that you program to show running text. I figure after two successes I'm entitled to stop for the night.

My parents had a pure-bred burmese kitty walk in on them many years ago. Must have been somebody's lost pet, but they never did manage to find out whose. Same couldn't be said for the at-least-half-wild tom cat who walked in, took up residence in the kitchen courtyard, and became a fixture for years. He quite possibly did walk in from the game park over the road.

Cats can be unpredictable. I thought our present house tom was wild and shy when we first saw him, but he's quite the opposite. In fact, he's probably well worth the amount we've spent on vet bills to get him sewn up from the fights he got into, when we consider the number of mice he eliminates and his general value as a friendly pet.

Aha agent Siam is in place...mwahahaha :)

You could take a crack at my vhs, it's on the way out though I think. It loads but the mechanism that loads the tape around the head is a bit crappy due to a slipping belt a bit.

I could crack it, you mean. VHS players have to be the craziest Rube Goldberg mechanisms ever made in such quantities.
