Might as well be already. Gary's brother is having surgery tomorrow, so he's going into Chicago to get his mom to take her to the hospital and then she will stay here overnight. Not that I object, she's easy to get along with, but we have to scurry around tidying up.

Not warm enough for air conditioning, yet quite humid. Icky.

And I'm ready for bed now, but can't go to sleep yet.

I can think of a few things that will make you go to sleep...

Such as my thesis on the uniformitarianistic aspects of antidisestablishmentalism; a pre history, the past, present and future of how anarchy cults all look alike and do the same things they've always done. Said in about 116 different ways, this thesis will put the most studious to bore.

After having one of the latest lowland snows on record, and breaking the record for the earliest 100 degree temperature (which of course doubles as a record high for that day) just a couple weeks after that late snow, now that it's mid-August we're facing down an autumn storm.

Yes, an August without Dog Days. But they got it up in the Pacific Northwest instead, where it never gets that hot. Or at least, never used to.
