Actually, today was a work day, but I still had stuff to finish up warping the loom. Did some threading this morning before going to work, and finished it up after supper tonight. One mistake that I caught, easily corrected by tying in an extra heddle. Then came the task of sleying, which is the weaver's term for pulling the warp threads through the reed, an evenly spaced guide that determines the number of threads per inch in the finished fabric. In this case, a set of 20 warp threads per inch was required, so I used a reed with ten dents per inch and pulled the threads through in pairs. There are 304 warp ends, and the finished width will be 15 inches. The sleying took about a half hour, and I finished right at 10:30, my bedtime and deadline. The ends still need to be tied to the cloth beam, but that's a simple task. I'll be able to attend the guild meeting tomorrow morning and hear the instructor speak about summer and winter weaves, and still get to work by 12:30 or so. Then W day, and the work week is over for this week. ;p

Those words sound disturbing and yet intriguing O.O
Dents per inch, warp threads, and sleying? o.O

No need to get raddled or bother your heddle with it. ;p The only thing that gets shafted is the warp, after all, and though the loom has woof it doesn't bite. Just watch out for the beater, and make sure your treadles are on the lam.
