Skeins and lace
Oct. 6th, 2008 07:15 pmJust one of many photos from the gallery in Woodstock. This one features handknit lace scarves, from handspun yarn. The yellow and blue at lower left is mine (2nd place), the beige in the center is by Susan Rubendall (3rd place), and the white at the right is by Harriet Roll (1st place.)
At the left hand edge you can just see one corner of my handspun ramie scarf, crocheted in Solomon's knot stitch. That one got 2nd place in the "Other textile techniques" category.
A small sampling of other entries appears if you click through to Flickr and view the adjoining photos in the same photostream. I'll probably upload more in a day or two.

Date: 2008-10-08 01:48 am (UTC)At the moment, I should be working furiously on a fursuit headpiece, but instead I'm weaving a checkered scarf from handspun wool. The colors are blues and grays, and may please no one but me. However, if it finishes as soft as I hope it will, I'm going to keep it and wear it myself so it doesn't matter. I like it, so I don't care what anyone else thinks.
