Wolf paws: hands
Nov. 17th, 2008 08:36 pmHands down... er... done. I may decide to add some fur to lengthen the cuff, but don't know if it's needed until I finish the body suit, which is the only task left. I wanted as much dexterity as possible for the character, so rather than building heavy gloves of fur, I chose to apply fur, nails, and pads to a pair of white cotton gloves. The fur strips are sewn on by hand, one finger at a time. Nails and pads are just craft felt, attached with glue.
Body suit and some minor reinforcements to the head, and he's ready to go.
Oh yeah, it snowed today. Serious enough that there was a quarter inch on the grass and bare earth at sunset. For a while the visibility was very much reduced, though the weather service continued to announce that it was sunny and 35F. After it was over and the sun came out, about 30 minutes later, they started to announce that "It seems to be snowing up in Harvard." Idiots.
