Raindrops on my window

Raining again. It's warm outside, very warm for December. We've been wobbling back and forth over a range of 50 degrees for the past week or so. The snow is melted, the ground is actually thawing to mud though that won't last. This rain is going to turn to ice and then snow overnight. Bizarre. Today's high temperature was 50°F, tomorrow's will be 13.

I've got about two more hours to be 58 years old. At 10:54 pm Eastern Time the counter clicks over again. Still not one of those "milestones" with a zero on the end, but that's looming out there in the dark. ;p

Except for helping with barn chores, I goofed off all day. I did make a pot of chili, though. Gary embroidered me another sweatshirt, this time with 'Tivo the Clydesdale Librarian on it. He used the Jim Groat badge as artwork for it, and it looks great. In the washer right now to get the interfacing out of the stitches but I'll get a photo or scan soon I hope. Entirely his idea to do this, unlike the Argos shirt which I requested specifically. He borrowed my badge and scanned it when I wasn't looking and worked up the embroidery design without being caught. I think he's just about ready to actually come to MFF for a day next year, perhaps on Saturday so he can see the parade and all.

Kept busy much of the day thinking everyone for the best wishes. If I missed any of you, thank you very much. It's good to have friends. (And even strangers. Over on F4L, I was inundated with birthday wishes from folks I didn't know at all.)

*sets out a spread with cake, ice cream, cookies, and little sandwiches shaped like ponies and wuffies*

Dig in everyone. Beer, wine, soda, and all that are in the cooler over there. Oh, and I'm watching to make sure all you canine types stay out of the chocolate. There's three kinds of cake, only one with chocolate icing.

I always thought you were a bit less of an old fart as I recalled you mentioning getting your first car in the mid-70s.

First car I ever bought new from a dealer was a 1973 VW beetle, yes. But by then I was married and in graduate school. I had owned a motorcycle for several years, and then a used Opel Kadett that had belonged to my father before I had it. Two German cars. ;p The motorcycle was a Honda, though, not a BMW.

And I'm not an old fart yet. Still a fresh one. XD

There are both vegetarian and carnivorous sandwich versions. Just peek inside to be sure you get something you like. And no, the pony sandwiches are not made of ponies, nor the wolf sandwiches of wolf-meat. I think there's one kind of frozen yogurt too that has low sugar and fat.

Oh, so you might consider MFF again at least one more time? Gee, maybe it is time for me to pay for the room. I really do enjoy it in spite of any problems and LOVE fursuiting (Do'H!). Working on Steed some more in fact and ordered the white feathers and ear ball bearings and more tail kanekelon and got the sewing machine all set up and making pads for leg shaping and so forth. Hey, it makes us feel younger and that is never a bad thing since I will be hitting another zero year in January.

Haven't made my mind up about MFF yet, but I'm still monitoring. If we want to have a room next year, we'll have to reserve early, months early as last year. Evidently it will be at the same place again. Hard to predict the economy right now too. The price of attendance could be a real pinch by then. (He says, having just got the credit card bill...)

I do want to look seriously at the Furry Connection North idea though. Smaller, less expensive, and maybe even a less busy time of year. As for feeling younger, well, maybe thinking about it makes us feel younger. By the time I get home from MFF, I usually feel pretty old. ;p

I can't wait to see Steed with swivel ears, in any case. *hugs*
