'Twas the night before...
Dec. 24th, 2008 08:19 pmThe temperature is dropping like a rockslide. Fortunately we have made our foray into Chicago, had Christmas eve dinner with Gary's mom and one brother and his family, exchanged gifts and returned safely. This in spite of heavy falling snow that began to melt mid-morning as the tempurature ran up above freezing and then turned to ice as the wind shifted and we dropped back into single digits.
All the critters are snuggled in bed, even Gary, who is napping before going off to sing at midnight mass while I snuggle by the revived woodstove and enjoy looking at my Christmas loot: several new books on knitting and a very cute plush moose.
Tomorrow we shall have nothing to do except for critter care and preparing our own meals, no deadlines, and no need to venture out into the cold or drive on icy roads. Yay.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Blessed Yule to all, and to all a quiet night.
