I can remember asking my 80-year-old grandmother who she had voted for in 1952. My mother hushed me because that "wasn't polite to ask" but my grandmother smiled and said "Ike". ;p
The campaign buttons said "I like Ike". The 50s were the beginning of the turn that the US took in the wrong direction, in my opinion. And the international diplomatic relations of that administration produced the cold war and resulted in the Cuban missile crisis during the Kennedy administration.
It's a syndicated newspaper comic. They only keep some limited number of weeks available online for free. You have to pay for a subscription if you want the whole thing.
