Homage to the Cat in the Hat

Here's the wall hanging, complete and ready to go to the show. That constitutes my third of three entries that will be submitted this afternoon.

I wanted to say I've now met all my deadlines, but I see NaNoWriMo looming on the horizon already. It's like entropy I guess: You can't win, You can't break even, You can't get out of the game. ;p

Have you seen any of the trailers for the new Alice in Wonderland live action/CGI movie?

Nope. At the risk of sounding snobbish, I'm getting tired of remakes of remakes. I wish they'd do something NEW instead.

If I see neither cats nor hats, is that okay?

I do quite like it though. Very nice work again. :D

The cat is no longer there. At the end of the book, remember, he went away over the horizon and disappeared. However, if you look closely, you can see his footprints in the snow. Note too that the falling flakes are pink as a result of his escapades. XD

Thanks, I thought I missed something when I saw no kitty. Very nice indeed.

No ten-dollar shoes?

No room for 'em. Though you can find the talking goldfish if you look hard enough. XD

Thanks. It's an example of "making do" with what's on hand. All the yarns are leftover bits, and the warp was already threaded on the loom from another piece. ;p

When I first saw that wall hanging I immediately associated it with something Japanese, mainly I guess because that's the culture I associate with wall hangings :)

My exposure to Japanese culture is very sparse, but I can see what you mean. If the "cat footprints" and "snow" were something like chrysanthemums and falling leaves, it would fit right in.

Traditional Japanese art of this sort would be painted or embroidered, though. Am I right?
