I think I'm still not recovered from Wednesday.

In the interest of avoiding writing, or editing a guild newsletter that I need to get done, Argos finished warping his loom this evening. I'm sure he'll have something to say about it tomorrow. There are more photos, for the curious. The entire 32 inch wide warp (320 individual threads, which isn't a lot for something that wide) is now threaded, sleyed, tied, and tensioned. The header has been woven, and the loom is ready for the actual weaving process now.

We got a new garbage disposal installed today. In the eleven years we've had this house, we have replaced nearly every appliance, including the heating and cooling system. I believe only the water softener is still original at this point. Oh, and the well pump. I don't want to replace that one. We already had it pulled so they could replace the gaskets, though. That was expensive enough. We don't actually use the garbage disposal much, but since we do use the dishwasher, and it drains through the disposal, when the old one died it had to be replaced. In general it doesn't make much sense to grind up food waste and dump it into your septic system, so we compost kitchen waste instead.

I'm flattened, though, so I think I'll go be flat (in bed.)

B's are sweet but watch out for the stinger, that's the sharp bit.

I had forgotten how much prep there is for a loom. I helped my aunt with hers when I was 13 and loved the idea, but was shocked at the $$$ they wanted for them.
We do not have a disposal; here in the sink anyways.. We have the fuzzballah, and the veggies go to the cervade that make rounds seeemingly daily :p We cant compost anything, as it gets eaten :p Tho we are composting(Passive) by tilling in all the paper shreddys, and paper egg cartons, and kitchen scraps. I hope to get somthing besides sand in this soil someday:p
I can hardly believe that the septic is still going here; being that it needed to be pumped 15 years ago:p
Disposers are a horrid idea for plumbing systems.

The septic tank on my dad's home connects to a big dyke. It is broken down quite well there.

Septic tanks generally need to have the sediment/slush removed more often than that. We do ours about once every three years.

As I get older, I am finding myself spending more of my time desiring sleep as well. I now cannot keep my eyes open much past half one.

I could never stay up that late. But then I've never slept in the morning either. I usually wake up before the sun.

I've been fortunate that I've only replaced my well pump once, though I've had to have the check valves done a couple of times. The tank inside the house gave it up last year. My well man told me that I was lucky to have gotten 14 years out of the first pump.

The septic system is a story of denial. I'm told that it should be pumped every year or two. I went about 17 before I decided to have it done. I think I've destroyed the galley portion of the system by waiting so long and that it is filled with the overflow from the tank. This was five or six years ago... I haven't done it since :o`

We've had the septic pumped out maybe three times in ten years. There are only two of us here, though, and it seems to work out all right.

The well guys say that a pump should last 25 years or more unless it is abused or hit by lightning. ;p

You can be locked from the bedroom. That happens to cats all the time when they do this.

*pauses for thought then jumps up and down on the bed for all he's worth till he's thrown out unceremoniously*

It was worth it.
