And it rained
May. 13th, 2010 09:15 pmNot for 40 days and 40 nights, thank goodness. Everything would have floated away. We measured 3.5 inches overnight, though. The weather services say it was 3.35 here, but that's still too much all at once. Even though we live on relatively high ground, there are higher areas near us. Consequently all that water runs past us on its way downhill. Our creek is full to the brim, muddy, and noisy. Our pastures are flooded with six to eight inches of running water. The barns, thank goodness, stayed relatively dry this time, but everything else is sodden. Tess was not pleased that she couldn't go out today, even when I tried to explain to her that all her grass was under running water.
This is pretty much what happened last spring too. I hope it doesn't continue.
