Plushwuff!

Here he is, a new canine. I'm eclectic and don't stick to just the equines. Cuddlekins (Wild Republic) 30 inch wolf, was only $29.95 plus shipping from TheBigZoo via Amazon. He's settled right in, and the ponies don't seem to mind him at all. Full body snap is here.
It was a beautiful day, a bit humid but not terribly hot and very blue and sunny. Nasty day to be stuck at work until sunset but that's Wednesday for ya.
Most of the Alpha problems got solved by much trial and error and detailed analysis with very little thanks to half-baked documentation by HP. The Alphas are now sharing files, which was the main goal of the exercise, and the Linux boxen can mount an Alpha disk directory and access individual files directly. Unfortunately, HP chose not to implement that ability on VMS, but I can live with it one way, since it's both read and write from the Linux side.
Tomorrow's only a half day, thank goodness.

It's funny how they price on Amazon. Their black bear has finally dropped to about the same price as your wolf, and your wolf has gone back up some. If I go to thebigzoo.com to order, the price is almost $50, plus $3 to ship. The panda I had looked at a couple of months ago has also gone up from $29 to $64, with shipping. heh, it's worse than trolling ebay!

I've grown fond of bears and bear themes over time, and have to admit that I may have more bears here than bunnies! When I see books with bear and bunny illustrations together I have to guard my enthusiasm: my workmates seem to understand, but one doesn't want to get too carried away with the "awwww's" and "look at these!" comments as it kind of unnerves them ;o)

Date: 2010-06-11 09:57 pm (UTC)Sounds like you got him for a great price, too! I've found that watching prices for plush on Amazon is like watching the stock market with all the dramatic, unexplainable ups and downs. :-P In just the past week Amazon itself has gone from "in stock - only 4 left" at $39.99, to out of stock "usually ships in 2-4 weeks" less than 24 hours later, and now they're back in stock at $38.08.
In any event, I'm glad this guy has a nice new home! And that's a lovely quilt for him to rest upon, too... :-)
