Tired and headachy at the moment, though. Stressful day trying to clear as much from my input queue as possible will do that. Lately the new book shipments have been arriving on Thursdays and Fridays, which didn't help. Five boxes of new books had come in since Wednesday afternoon. Continued problems with the interlibrary loan module, the network backup is overloaded (again!) and at 5 pm today I noticed a yellow flashing warning on one of the less critical servers.

You know what? What didn't get done is going to have to wait. The books did get cataloged, all of them. The backup was tweaked into working once, may work for another week. The ILL problem has a workaround, though it's complex enough that I suspect people will forget to use it. The proxy server, which probably has another bad drive in its RAID-5 (I replaced one in June) is still running so it will have to wait.

Now if I can just find some black walnuts somewhere...

Sounds like a case of sequential serial number syndrome. It seems like drives manufactured at the same time like to fail at the same time.

I recently upgraded my desktop's RAID-1 from 320GB drives to 1TB drives. The new drives' serial numbers are fairly close to each other.
