Full day, or full of it, not sure.
I think the highlight is this: I've decided that I will do the NaNoWriMo again this year. This will be the sixth year in a row. I've finished successfully in three of the previous five attempts. I was planning to break the habit this time around, but there's been a change.
It is now possible to seek sponsors for your attempt. They can make donations (needn't be huge, $5 or $10 is great) to back your effort. The money goes to The Office of Letters and Light, to support literacy, library, and youth writing projects at an international level. I think this is a worthy cause and one that is being largely neglected today, so I'll do my part. I'm working to put together a team of furry writers who will pool the donations received in the name of furry fandom, but whether I succeed in that or not, I will definitely be writing again this year. Donations are deductible as 503(c) educational foundation contributions in the US, and when things are set up I'll post a link where they can be made. I think they will accept PayPal or credit cards. Mercenary? I don't think so. I'll not see the money myself, I believe in the cause, and I don't believe I will know who gave or who didn't.
After pondering continuations with dear Argos or young Jake, I've decided to go in an entirely new direction. Arthurian romance, with furries. Should be entertaining, at least.
Night all.

Date: 2010-10-23 02:02 am (UTC)A raccoon as a minstrel/troubador.
A lion as the king (not Arthur, actually, but more like Richard the Lionheart of course.)
Various wolves and foxes as knights and ladies, badgers and stags as enemy kings...
I haven't decided between a parody of The Lion in Winter or a sendup of the legend of King Richard and Blondel de Nesle. (I briefly considered Edward II and Piers Gaveston, but that's too tragic and too sissified at times to make fun of.)
