Got the warp onto the beam. Photos tomorrow, I think, as I'm too tired to edit them at the moment. I was sweating the last full section as I feared I would run out of thread on the spools and have to rewind at least 30 of them, but it turned out pretty much as planned. Now I know that my counter has an error margin of about 5% and can make a suitable allowance. Tomorrow the threading begins. Just 354 warp threads, each of which must be associated with one and only of of four possible lift shafts. Compared with the process of warping the loom, the actual weaving is easy in my opinion, and often even boring. This one is complicated enough that I won't have time to be bored, though.

I did take a break in the afternoon to attend Gary's weekly jam session. Mostly Celtic stuff, but with some other tunes thrown in, it is sometimes pretty interesting. They meet at what used to be Mast House in Woodstock, a folk music gathering and performance venue for decades but now sold and on short time. Much of the content of the music room has already been auctioned and removed. I don't think they've yet found a new place to gather.

Sunset was peculiarly beautiful, but alas, I didn't have my camera. It was snowing lightly here, but there was a gap in the clouds to the west and the sun treated us to a magnificent display of rose and purple as it went down.

Knowing we'd be gone all afternoon, I had put orange chicken in the crock-pot. Turned out pretty good, though I think it could use a touch more "sweet and sour" effect. I used white wine this time and I think in the past I've used red.

Returned library books to Woodstock rather than to Harvard, as I didn't want to go near work. Four more days off, and so far I've managed not to think about work, which is good.
