Back to work tomorrow. Tomorrow I should also have a better photo of the Catalpa Flower pattern. I've started the first block to go to another member of the group, and her chosen color is a dark loden green that yields much more contrast and should make a better photo. I don't have enough done on it yet to get a picture.

I've always heard that weaving is good exercise, and in the past I've laughed at that. Now I understand why some people insist that it is. This particular style of work requires a lot more muscle than I usually put into operating the loom. The woolen pattern yarns need to be packed very tightly together to produce the desired results. I'm going to be sore. Well, I already am, a little, from warping. That required a good amount of bending, stretching, and crawling around on the floor.

In addition to weaving, today I cleaned barns, brought a load of wood in and stacked it, and dashed to the grocery store in a 30 minute time slot, which is about half what I usually take. Now that the holidays are over, it looks as if gasoline prices may be dropping somewhat. I paid $3.07 for unleaded, where last week it was $3.19 and even higher up in Harvard. My car hadn't been moved the whole time I've been home. It had six inches of snow on it, and I figured I'd better make sure it would start. It did.

This morning it was 5°F when I got up, and the expected high for the day was to be 15. We actually made it to 20 though. Should be warmer tomorrow, when we're told to expect snow, then freezing drizzle. But by the end of the week they say we'll be in the deep freeze for the coldest temperatures yet this season. Glad we got that stove pipe replaced when we did.

Either you're getting REALLY cheap gas or you're a dollar off on your price there Tivo. :P

Ours has shot up from the mid two dollar range to $2.95 now. That's pushing it to almost $80 to fill the Ram and with my commute that amount of fuel lasts just over a week. o.o
