Fog, drizzle, more fog. Dense fog advisory for late tonight and much of tomorrow. It was thick around 11 am, with visibility sometimes as low as 100 feet I think. Warm wet air settling on top of open fields still covered with heavy snow will do that.

Gary and Red are off at the agility conditioning class, having finished up the basic obedience (and passed, with certificate) Monday. They aren't due back for another 30 minutes, so dinner is greatly delayed.

A week and change ago I sent in a portfolio of writing samples to the Tai-Pan Project and asked to be considered as a contributing writer. Today I received the notification that I've been accepted. The Project produces two or three print issues a year filled with art and science fiction tales that feature furry characters, all set in a coherently managed universe where most events take place aboard spaceships. After reading the magazines for several years, I've decided that I really can write for them, and evidently the editor in chief agrees that I'm up to their standards. So now I have to come up with a story proposal, since everything that touches on existing characters or settings must be vetted for consistency.

Time to set the table and heat up supper...

Anyhow, congrats to them both for passing the class. I hope they had fun there, too! :)

Just a pass-fail course. I'd say they did better than most, though. The small dogs have the attention spans of insects.

Yesterday was even slightly sunny at times, but clouded over as the evening progressed, and today's just plain dull and grey, though the morning's fog does seem to have gone, mostly. Not much chance of seeing any low-latitude aurora though.

Yeah, no aurora spotting here either. The snowpack is really dwindling though. Maybe the ground hog being buried in a blizzard and unable to see anything really worked.
