First real snowstorm
Dec. 8th, 2009 08:49 pmThe weather forecast has been alternating between dire predictions of a foot or more of snow and nothing at all for the last two days. Here's what finally arrived just before sunset today and has been intensifying every since. Present snowfall rate is nearly an inch per hour. The latest prediction is that temperatures will rise, turning the stuff into slush while rain continues to fall, then drop again, freezing it all into an unmanageable mess. I'd rather have the foot of snow, please.
So far, the temperature is holding just below freezing, which is fine. When these photos were taken, we had about four inches accumulated and it was still falling fast.
