Burnout

I have a newsletter to get out, and no motivation to work on it.

A book manuscript to edit and no sense that it's worth the bother.

Weaving to finish and I'm tired of the project even though it's only half done.

A pile of books to read but no desire to sit and do it.

Artwork I'd like to do, but I feel too guilty about not doing the other stuff first.

And so forth... Yes, I'm acting like a spoiled brat but I don't do it very often I think.

Quite by accident I acquired a bit of information that makes me quite angry and bitter about publishing and literature in the furry fandom. I'll probably get over it, but at the moment I feel like chucking all my work and the books of others into the fireplace.

After I sleep on it I'll probably feel better, but never the same as I did.

You are productive: you updated your Dreamwidth account with a new entry. 8^) Have a nice hot St. John's Wort tisane ('tea'). Now I'm keen to discover what horrors human nature has spawned now. Maybe Flayrah knows. BTW, a snow storm is busily BURYING ME ALIVE. But the llamas are gorging on hay, I have coffee and cookies and my first few bulbs are blooming.

Woke up at 4:30 and was too congested to go back to sleep, so I did the newsletter and got it out the door.

As for the horrors, they won't be in Flayrah (at least not yet) because I can't be the one to divulge them. Let's just say that furry publishing is even more inbred than I thought it was, and that's not good news in my opinion.

Llamas would really cheer me up, but I don't have any here.

Heavens! This is a pair of very spitty llamas! Pur laine drama llamas. (Québec French/bilingual joke! Is good one.) But the midget llama yanks on my coat every time I have my back turned. Trying to brush the wood shavings out of their wool causes the spit to fly in ernest, so I only do that while they have their mouths full of Purina Sheep Chow. Ptuie!

I just lost at least three hours to poring through MLP FIM fanart on http://www.ponychan.net/chan/ I'm still laughing about the Pony Fandom banning on 4chan. "The mods are asleep! Post ponies!" Oh! Well, friendly llamas would admittedly be preferable.

However, any time I have an opportunity to watch camelids I'm always reminded of Pratchett's theories. Camels are actually aliens of high intelligence who have manifested a portion of themselves into our dimension in order to observe us. This requires only a small portion of their powerful minds, so they devote the rest to working higher mathematics in their heads, including the calculation of precise trajectories. Occasionally they test those calculations by spitting...
