Flash floods

The warning was issued for our area early this afternoon, and is still in effect. Dekalb County got up to 5 inches of rainfall, which will raise levels in the Kishwaukee River Basin to flood levels over the next 24 hours. Fortunately, we are on the wrong branch and at least 50 to 100 feet above flood level. and the rain here was very light. Not so fortunate for others, I'm afraid.

This has seemed like a week that lasted a whole month. Bed soon for me.

No, in fact it seems to have amounted to very little, as usual. These warnings are the dramatic part. Reality makes them look silly.
