I'm not accustomed to spending most of the day on my feet any more. Ow, am I gonna be sore.
Work schedule so thin today that there were only two of us to handle the entire library at any given time. I was on for the full day (8:30-5:30) while two others each did half a day. We had a page to help with shelving books for about four hours, but she doesn't deal with the public directly for the most part. By the door counter, a light day, so why am I so wiped out?
Early to bed tonight, I think. I declined to attend a house concert, knowing I would probably feel this way. Gary's there, won't be back until after midnight probably. Next week he starts school again, which will disrupt our routine schedule at least a couple of days a week.
Still not cooling off much at night, though the days aren't as hot as they were at least. Much to do, weaving, writing, spinning, and much heat-induced lethargy that keeps it from happening as it should. Well, at least tomorrow is another day, one with only grocery shopping and animal chores required in it.

Date: 2011-08-20 12:16 pm (UTC)Very different from the college position I had before this, where the library was on five floors and just couldn't operate without six or eight staff. We are at least all on one level, which helps a bit, but it always amazes me how much time is eaten up by very basic things like finding the green button on the copier or how to sign onto a computer. Or the number of people who show up with no library card and in fact no ID at all yet expect to check out books etc. We should have a cop standing at the door to hand out tickets for driving without a license or insurance.
