All pegasi temporarily grounded
Oct. 11th, 2011 08:50 pmDue to possibly dangerous weather. Here's the view looking west from where my car was parked at the library, 5:05 pm today. I thought it looked really threatening, and so dramatic I just had to snap this.

In contrast, the sky to the east was blue and sunny with little puffy clouds. I was sure I'd get rained on before reaching home, but it never rained nor did it even get windy. There is rain on the forecast, though, with increasing probabilities through tomorrow night, then backing off again. Hooves crossed for better weather by the weekend, though.

Date: 2011-10-13 08:41 am (UTC)Now the rain has arrived. Fairly heavy tonight, with little wind. The rain on the roof woke me up and I'm sitting here listening to it.

Date: 2011-10-13 04:03 am (UTC)Started off with heavy showers this morning, then sun, then some of the scariest thunderstorms I've seen since my days living in Texas this afternoon and evening, with marble-sized hail. "Hail" in the Seattle area is more like what you might call sleet by comparison, never bigger than small pebbles.

Date: 2011-10-13 08:45 am (UTC)It's been raining quite hard here for an hour or more. The sound of it hitting the roof was keeping me awake so I got up to check for leaks. None found, thank goodness. NOAA says "less than a tenth of an inch overnight" but I'm sure we passed that easily.
