Sneeze, sniffle, sneeze...

Feels like allergy mostly, not a cold, but this time of year I think allergy is unlikely. Oh well.

I will do the Nanowrimo thing again this year. Mostly because an idea did hit me this morning and i like it. More about that in a day or two after it gets rolling...

Meanwhile, here's a photo of the dog and cat sleeping together.

Red and Tikki

Oh, and some "traders" (by which I mean "dirty thieves") at CBOT dropped leaflets onto the Occupy Chicago demonstrators that clearly show just who is waging class warfare on whom, and what the arrogant and self-conceited assumptions really are.

Read it here if you can stomach it.

When I read that note, something springs to mind.

I have for several years postulated that people who consistently use an ampersand in place of the word 'and' are suffering from some kind of mental illness. Not because of the use itself, but because it tends to show up in whoever is making wild rants with no basis in reality.

Do you see the ampersand in the second paragraph?

See - it's people like that the 99% / Occupy crowd are pissed at. Wow. They are in some ways right - they are a vicious crowd and they revel in their taking. Unfortunately - those pamphlets are designed with only one thing in my mind. Inciting violence, as violence is something that the system can handle effectively. No matter how violent the protesters get, they will not get the ass-hats that wrote that pamphlet - by the time the going gets that tough those guys will be plying their trade elsewhere.

Anywho, I'm going to try not letting politics get to me... I have other things that I'd like to achieve, and if I spend my time and mental prowess complaining about politics instead of making music, acting, or making games; then I'll achieve nothing of what I set to do.

Love that last line in the note: "What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours." AS IF. There are an awful lot of people who don't have jobs to begin with — that's part of the problem Wall Street created. Come after MY job? They haven't made any product in their entire careers, just picked up the phone and moved money. The only way he could take my job is if ... um, he became CEO and outsourced my work. Well, at least it's not honorable work he'd be doing then, either.

I probably shouldn't have read that note.

About your photo: D'awwwww.... although I'm not sure Red is completely sanguine from his expression. Maybe it's just the camera, though. "Aw c'mon boss, don't take my picture like this...."

Thing is — and I'm probably pretty close to needing to write my own LJ post about this — thing is, sure the guy who wrote that note is successful, but it's not like he's Jamie Diamond or Timothy Geithner. He's just a run of the mill schmuck with more ambition than ethics or sense of social justice, thinking he's living the "real" American dream, and screw all the losers who can't make that work. I guess that's one of the things that bugs me the most, the sense of entitlement that comes to people who forget that their good fortune is not the norm, nor does that good fortune make him better than anyone else. You don't see that in the real champs like Gates and Jobs, or Buffett or Soros for that matter, at least not publicly.

Red's surely a good source of heat, and it's nice that he's willing to share, especially with a friend.

Oops.

It's Jamie Dimon, not Diamond, or so I've been told. (I only listen to Marketplace, never read the transcripts.) Apologies to Mr. or Ms. Diamond, who I'm sure is a lovely person and not a captain of a rapacious industry.
