*taps hoof* Where is it? *peers out window"

Actually, it's supposed to start at midnight. Still dire predictions of up to a foot or more, but it will take all day tomorrow for that much to accumulate. Chances are I'll be going to work in the morning, but fortunately I get off for the day at lunchtime.

So what's the excuse for the sudden jump in gas prices? It has gone up 20 cents or more per gallon in the last seven days around here. Some stations increased their prices three times within a week. I know they don't take deliveries that often in most cases, so there's something dubious going on.

Apparently heating oil has gone up as well. I know about the gas because I filled both cars today and paid $2.759/gal and $2.799/gal respectively: about $63 dollars, total. It was $2.839/gal further up the road.

Good luck with the storm!

$2.89 around here. Hasn't been that high since spring. Normally we see a drop after the holidays rather than a big increase.

Its because the price/barrel dropped today. So it will continue to climb till everyone stops buying again.
I really need to look into making an efficiant steam car and burn engine drain oil.
Hopes your not frozen solid out there!

It went down so the price goes up? That makes no sense.

No, actually it's warmer than it has been for the last week or so. But that's usual for this time of year. It warms up and snows, then chills down again afterward.

They (the oil companies) don't NEED an excuse. You NEED them, and they know it. ;)

Yes, but here we also see wild fluctuations that appear to be local. I can drive just a few miles and see the prices vary by as much as 15% at times.

Dubious behind-the-scenes going-ons with gas prices? Unheard of! :)
