So... We weren't included in the winter storm watch, nor in the winter weather watch. But this morning by 9 am it had started snowing. By 9:30 it was coming down hard enough to reduce visibility. And it continued to snow all day, right up to sunset after which it was hard to be sure because you couldn't see any more. ;p

But the weather service continued to insist all day that we had only a 20% chance of snow, would get less than an inch accumulation, and that the temperature was "holding" at 21F. It was in fact all the way down to 12F and they were still saying it was 21F here. Why no one takes them seriously any more. They seem unable to read their own radar diagrams

...and I thought the -6C my car's thermometer was flashing at me last night was a bit on the chilly side...

Woodstove can handle it if yo don't let the fire die off and cool down.

It is -14C here, kind of chilly as well, but I don't think it is too bad yet. Was close to -30C couple of weeks ago and my car battery froze. I had to take it indoors to thawing and recharging. So going to use the heating post from now on (Cars here have electric oil heating which you plug into mains).
