Good thing it's a short week

Today felt like two days long, so we've already canceled out the holiday yesterday. The delivery van was in the driveway when I arrived this morning. Normally they get there 30 minutes after I do, giving me time to pull books requested overnight by other libraries and get them sorted and ready to go. They were busy redefining the entire sort and bundle process to the boss. I gather the old regional delivery manager is retired and the job taken over by someone who wants us to go back to the ineffectual methods of eight years ago. Boo.
There were also two full bookdrops worth of returns to be checked in. Normally we have one. New materials to be cataloged were waiting on my desk as well, and a glitch (or apparent one) with the firewall needed immediate attention.
By afternoon I was feeling really worn out, like old clothes or rugs or something.
Oh and the IRC channel for Equines and their friends, SFW chat only, is now registered and running at Furnet: irc.furnet.org, port 6667 (or 6697 for SSL) and /join #horseherd. I'm not always present myself because I have to sleep and work, of course, but we have a crew of regulars now and it's becoming hospitable.
There was snow on the ground again at dawn this morning, but it all melted as the temperature rose through the day.
