Goosed

I didn't have time to get a camera, but two geese landed on the ridge of the library roof this morning and sat there for several minutes. No idea why they would do that, but it sure was odd looking.

We are still being goosed by junk political callers, too. No way to tell tham that we voted last week and they are wasting their time and ours. As far as I can tell, all the calls are from Republicans, as usual. And all of them consist of negative campaigning against an opponent rather than positive ideas and concepts being presented. Republicans are defined by what they are against, not by what they favor, apparently. The great party of the perpetual "No!"

Raccoons are out in force, as are the chipmunks. Last night we saw two large 'coons in 0ur yard. Today I noticed a dead one on the edge of the road. Still busily enlarging itself, it had blimped up by about 50% over it's former dimensions, sort of like a Mandarin duck.

Think it must be time for bed, can't keep my eyes open.

From time to time we have geese landing on the outer edges of the building at work, which is three stories and has a flat roof. Great place to be if a bird wishes to survey the domain, as hawks and crows would. It's just weird to see geese there. But gees on the peak of a roof would look even odder.

My phone was flooded with messages from GOP candidates just before our primary. What a pain. They stopped on the day of the primary, so maybe you'll be left alone now since your primary is today.

I wonder if there actually are people out there who don't mind or even like these calls. It would be a group of people you and I don't really know, I guess. The same people like reality TV and vapid pop music, too, maybe.

"I'll vote for whoever robo-calls me last just before I go to the polls." I'm sure it happens all. the. time. (Not.)

I think that's true for Romney and Gingrich. Santorum seems pretty clear that he wants a theocracy based on his own narrow view of the world (but he has no clearer ideas in economics than the others). He's the one I fear the most even though I think he's one who has the least chance in the general election. Maybe that doesn't make sense, if I really don't think he'll win. But to me it's too risky having him out there getting the attention he's getting. It's like leaving a loaded gun out around children, to be honest, and just hoping they don't pick it up. (I keep trying to come up with a nicer metaphor there, but it hasn't come to mind yet.)
