Frigid

Slightly warmer than last night. Magnificent moon if you can stop your teeth from chattering long enough to see it. Should be doing many things, but I'm huddled near the stove instead, kind of watching a movie Gary wanted to see. We gave up electric blankets years ago, but at the moment I regret it.

The silly thing is, this is not unusually cold for January here. It could be and has been ten or even twenty degrees colder. I don't have a fever but feel as if I do.

Anyway, bedtime very soon. Lots to get done tomorrow.

It;'s easier to fell the cold the older you get. I myself have noticably more problems with the cold now than when I was 10.

I've actually been more sensitive to cold than heat for as far back as I can remember. In spite of that, I have no desire to flee to a warmer climate because I really love the cycle of seasons as they play out in the environment, the animals and plants, and even the weather. If anything, I'd probably move farther north.

Hope the night went well, and warm. We had wind chills at -15 F last night, what with the gusting winds, but this morning the mercury reads 2 F. Moon was brilliant!

We're up to 19F now, and it's snowing again. Light, fluffy stuff, but definitely snowing and accumulating. In spite of the "higher" temperature, I forgot my mittens when I went out to feed horses and sheep and nearly got frostbite. Got my hands wet emptying out water tubs that had frozen overnight and even though there's no wind at the moment, it was painful.
