Major news: We both got the COVID-19 booster shot this morning. No significant side effects yet. In my case, none expected beyond what I had with the first two and that was just a little tenderness and itchiness at the injection site that lasted a day or two. None really expected for Gary either, but he gets paranoid about this stuff and may imagine some temporarily. Anyway, we're fine.

Minor news: Loose end tied off. Archie's new blanket finally arrived late this afternoon. Score for FedEx on this is -10 for taking a full week. Even USPS could have done better. Also -5 for each incorrect "expected delivery" date, of which there were two and both were obviously wrong from the start. Total score for FedEx is a big -20, only one out of five stars and that's for following my delivery instructions. I didn't deduct any for failing to text me when it was delivered or when it was out for delivery, both of which they had agreed to do. Anyway, it's here and I expect to have a photo of Archie wearing it sometime tomorrow.

We went to Tractor Supply to replenish the horse feed supply, had lunch at Kelly's Family Restaurant in Harvard, and stopped for some immediate grocery needs before heading home. Rehearsal tomorrow, time for bed. Later, all.

I got my COVID booster yesterday. No headaches, but it eventually really got sore at the injection site.

Businesses should not advertise services that they can't deliver, but then, there's hardly any competition for some businesses and well, [whine]everyone is doing it[\whine] so being realistic would make a business look lazy and or incompetent. I'm going to order another crowdfunded SoGreatAndPowerful album on vinyl. The company that makes these vinyl records claimed a two to three month estimated time to delivery. It took nine months. They still claim a 2 to 3 month delay.

I think package tracking is just a source of frustration. I prefer to just wait and it gets here when it gets here.

No problem with that if it works. I got in the habit of keeping track when we lived in Chicago. UPS and USPS both tended to leave parcels on our front porch (which went the width of the house and was roofed over so at least reasonably sheltered from weather) and I worried about them sitting there too long. The neighborhood was pretty good, but I had lost stuff that USPS left in the lobbies of previous apartment buildings. If I knew when it was coming, we had a neighbor who would watch the porch and keep it indoors until we got home from work.

Our here there is less risk, but I direct delivery services to use a concealed place to drop parcels. Usually they follow the instructions, but not always. Both FedEx and Amazon occasionally do their default thing and ignore my instructions. As a result they will leave a parcel on the front deck, which has no roof and is easily visible from the road out front. Nothing has disappeared yet, but it makes me uneasy.
